Anthony George is a professional contemporary guitarist and guitar teacher based in Northampton. Anthony is also a session musician, director of Cutting Edge Guitar Ltd, his full time guitar tuition company, and author of the instructional guitar book High intensity Guitar Technique. Anthony started playing aged 13, studying with expert private instructors before graduating from London’s prestigious Guitar Institute, part of The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in 2009. Initially influenced by the metal and rock genres and in particular established musicians such as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen, he soon progressed to other genres and added the recordings and skills of blues players such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robben Ford and jazz players such as Larry Carlton and John Schofield. This exposure to new genres led Anthony to discover players like Guthrie Govan, Greg Howe, Richie Kotzen and Frank Gambale that fuse the Rock and blues sound with Jazz harmony. With this in his collection and repertoire Anthony is able to incorporate all styles of music such as pop, rock, metal, blues, jazz, funk and fusion. Not only is Anthony a first class player and teacher, but is also a performer, having done many pit performances for pantomimes and musical shows, work in function bands playing bars and clubs, and playing cool background sets at weddings and restaurants with jazz duo Elektrik Jazz. to find out more about Anthony visit www.anthonygeorgeguitar.co.uk
