2008 Gibson Les Paul Traditional in beautiful, rich Desert Burst finish. As usual for these guitars the AA grade top is a carved, flamed book matched maple – nicely flamed in this case. The body itself is mahogany, with the Traditional specification weight relief in the form of 9 holes in the body beneath the maple cap (so heavier than a modern chambered Les Paul Standard – this guitar tips the scales at 9.9lbs). The mahogany neck has the more substantial ’50s profile. Fretboard is rosewood with trapezoid markets, and the frets are in great condition. Pickups are ’57 Classics, tuners are Kluson TonePros, and hardware is chrome Tunomatic bridge and stopbar tailpiece.
This Les Paul is in nice overall condition with a few age-related blemishes as shown in the photos – some light bucklerash on the back, a few minor marks on the body, a small crack to the edge binding near the shoulder strap button, a nick on the top rear of the headstock, and a light indentation on the top of the neck at the 9th fret. This is a guitar that is meant to be played!
The guitar comes with the original Gibson hardcase, which is in very good condition.
