Auden have a growing reputation in the acoustic guitars market for producing the instruments which balance the highest quality with great value. Produced from carefully selected tone woods, the basic guitars are manufactured in a purpose built facility in China, from where they’re shipped to the Auden workshop in the UK. Here, a team of expert luthiers complete the instruments, doing all the work that ensures Auden Guitars play outstandingly well – this includes precision fretwork, hand-finished bone nut and bone/composite bridge installation, and the installation of the superb Brad Clark Supernatural pickups system which ensure the guitars sound just as good amplified as they do when played acoustically.

This is the Edgar – set to tune to bottom B, the Edgar Baritone opens up a whole new world of acoustic playing. With a wonderfully earthy colour palette, this guitar rings out with an astonishing level of clarity and presence. The sound is massive but retains sharpness and definition. Construction of the guitar is a AAA Cedar top and AAA Rosewood back and sides. The C profile neck is from African Mahogany with an Ebony fretboard joining the body at the 14th fret. The rosewood inlay around the sound hole and faultless edge binding illustrate the premium build quality of this instrument. The quality feel extends to the  Schertler 18:1 ratio open tuners.

This Edgar is fitted with the Brad Clark Supernatural DS preamp/pickup system. The Supernatural DS comprises two sensors inputted into a programmable preamplifier. The sounds are “tuned” by professional musicians and pre-stored into the chip. There are four pre-sets to suit most guitars, scenarios and styles.  As a starting point, Auden describe them as: Thick Strum, Finger pick, Solo, and Thin Strum. Each sound is customisable with the onboard EQ so our descriptions are just a starting point from which you can explore the sounds of your guitar and your playing style.
