Here’s a beautiful example of a Fender Custom Shop Telecaster. Based on a 1960 model, this Tele Custom has an alder body in a classic 3-tone sunburst finish with white double binding, which has been given a very light ageing treatment (the Custom Shop Lush Closet Classic finish) giving it the feel of a guitar with 50 years of use, not abuse. The thin nitro finish has been beautifully aged, with just the right amount of lacquer checking and a smattering of minor nicks and dings.  It’s an extremely light and resonant guitar, (weighing just 7lb 5oz) than really rings out unplugged. The neck is  maple with an Oval C profile. The fretboard is rosewood, 9.5″ radius. The guitar has a pair of hand wound Custom Shop ’63 pickups – the neck pickup has a mellow vintage vibe, while the bridge pickup has more kick – more like a P90. As you’d expect from a really good Tele, the name of the game is versatility – this guitar can do anything from mellow jazz, through blues, to full on rock – a guitar without limitations!
