This example is a super-versatile version of the Classic T, with a Gordon Smith homewound humbucker pickup in the bridge position and a homewound P90 in the neck position. The humbucker can be split to give you classic single coil Tele twang, or you can deploy the full humbucker for some gritty overdriven dirt. The sweet P90 gives you the sweet Tele neck pickup tones you’d expect, in a beautifully clear rounded form – adding gain will deliver wonderfully woody sustain.
