Gordon Smith Guitars are handbuilt by a team of highly skilled luthiers at a workshop in Northamptonshire. Each guitar is crafted from the finest tone wood, and is meticulously finished to create a level of quality many of the bigger manufacturers could only dream of. The fabulous build quality is complemented by the best quality hardware and Gordon Smith’s own hand wound pickups resulting in instruments with superb playability and beautiful tone.
This GS-1 is a modern take on the classic LP Junior design, with 38mm mahogany body with stunning French Blue nitro satin finish. The thin profile neck is also mahogany, finished in French Blue with matching headstock, with dark rosewood fretboard, medium jumbo frets and the Gordon Smith signature adjustable brass nut. The single pickup is a handwound P90 with dog-ear black cover. The locking tuners are 18:1 ratio Gotohs. The overall result is a very cool, simple but well-specified guitar in a striking nitro finish, suitable for a range of blues, rock, punk and indie tones.
