Description
“Golden Era” Gibson solid body electrics are incredibly sought-after with some examples comfortably carrying 6-figure price tags. This 1960 Melody Maker may have been designed as a student model, but it was built in the same workshop, by the same people, with the same love and with the same materials as those renowned ’59/’60 Bursts. This is a joyous little rocker of a guitar which is an absolute pleasure to play – super light and comfortable, with a great feeling neck and a solitary single coil pickup which packs a real punch. This Gibson is in fantastic condition for a 60+ year old instrument, with a lustrous unfaded tobacco sunburst finish and unworn frets. It still has its original hardcase (which shows more signs of age than the guitar) which even contains the original price tag.
